Privacy Policy

Effective April 27, 2026  ·  Echoes for iOS

Echoes is a personal iOS app developed by Jeff Peck. This policy describes how the app handles your information. The short version: your data stays on your devices and in your own iCloud account. I never see it.

What Echoes stores

Echoes stores the following data locally on your device and, if you are signed into iCloud, in your private iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit service:

This data is created entirely by you. It never leaves Apple's infrastructure and is never accessible to the developer.

iCloud sync

If you are signed into iCloud, your data is synced across your devices using Apple's CloudKit. This sync occurs entirely within your personal iCloud account and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. The developer has no access to CloudKit-stored data.

What Echoes does not collect

Echoes does not collect, transmit, or share any of the following:

There are no third-party SDKs, analytics frameworks, or advertising networks in the app.

Push notifications

If you enable the daily notification, Echoes schedules a local notification on your device using Apple's UserNotifications framework. No notification content is transmitted to any server. The notification is generated and delivered entirely on-device.

In-app purchases

Echoes offers an optional one-time in-app purchase to support the app. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. The developer does not receive or store any payment card information, billing details, or purchase history beyond what Apple provides (which is limited to a transaction identifier confirming a successful purchase).

Children's privacy

Echoes does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app does not contain advertising or analytics, and all data remains within the user's own iCloud account.

Data retention and deletion

All data is stored on your device and in your iCloud account. You can delete all app data at any time using the "Delete All Echoes" option in the app's Settings. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data. To remove iCloud data, delete the app on all devices or manage your iCloud storage in iOS Settings.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
